The health, quality and productivity of livestock populations around the world are crucial to the health and livelihood of billions of people. Our scientists are constantly seeking to improve and expand our complement of products to protect against major diseases and to respond quickly to emerging diseases as they develop. We provide tailor-made programs to suit our customer’s needs in the areas of lung health, udder health, reproduction and neonatal health, as well as infectious disease control and parasite management and performance technologies.

Our BOVILIS and VISTA lines offer protection for ruminants against a range of respiratory and reproductive infections. Products in this segment of the portfolio include vaccines for calf pneumonia, BOVILIS BOVIPAST RSP and VISTA ONCE SQ. DECIVAC FMD DOE is our inactivated vaccine for the protection of cattle, sheep and pigs against foot and mouth disease.

ONSET 5 IN is our intranasally administered, five-way modified-live virus (MLV) vaccine available for cattle in the USA. ONSET 5 IN stimulates the immune response to bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) virus type 1 and type 2, infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR), parainfluenza3 (PI3) and bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) at the site of infection. These diseases have significant economic impact on beef and dairy herds.

When the bluetongue virus spread among ruminants in Northern Europe, it took less than two years to develop a product to control it. BOVILIS BTV8, a product that protects ruminants against the viral serotype involved in the recent outbreaks of the disease, was used throughout the past year to help prevent a repeat of the problems witnessed in 2007. BUTOX (deltamethrin) is a product protecting farm animals from ectoparasites (including midges, the vector for bluetongue virus) and helps to minimize productivity losses.

We recently launched our COOPERS PILIGUARD PINKEYE-1 TRIVALENT vaccine in Australia. This is a vaccine against Pinkeye, a ruminant disease regarded to be one of the most economically important in the country. Producers in the USA also benefit from a comparable vaccine.

Spearheading our broad range of anti-infective are NUFLOR (florfenicol) and COBACTAN (cefquinome). The first is used in the treatment of respiratory infections, while the latter is used in the therapy of various infectious conditions, including mastitis. By extensive development work, new indications and innovative formulations were registered based on these two active ingredients.

We recently added a long-acting cefquinome product, COBACTAN LA 7.5% and MASTIPLAN LC, a fast-acting mastitis treatment containing cefapirin and prednisolone. We have also combined florfenicol with the Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) flunixin, in RESFLOR, a one-shot treatment for cattle respiratory infections associated with pyrexia. BANAMINE/FINADYNE (flunixin) are anti-inflammatory products we offer for livestock.

We offer a comprehensive range of worm and fluke control products with, for example, our broad spectrum anthelmintic PANACUR / SAFEGUARD (fenbendazole) for farm animals and other species.

We also help producers maximize the performance of their herds with the help of products such as ZILMAX (zilpaterol), RALGRO (zeranol) and REVALOR (trenbolone/estradiol), REVALOR XS (trenbolone/estradiol), which uses an innovative coating technology, is a new-generation performance technology offering enhanced levels of flexibility for feedlot producers.
