Swine

Farmer with piglet

With a wide range of vaccines, covering the most relevant pathogens affecting pigs and varied fertility management products for the breeding sector we offer products and services for swine producers to ensure safety, quality and productivity of their animals. We also offer injectable products and oral medication for use in swine. Delivering consistent growth across a herd is crucial for sustainability of the producer’s business.

Key products in our swine portfolio include PORCILIS PRRS, based on the European strain of the virus responsible for porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome and PORCILIS APP, a sub-unit vaccine which protects against severe respiratory infections caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae.

PORCILIS AD BEGONIA is a marker vaccine against Aujeszky’s disease (AD), having sold over 700 million doses.

Another of our products, CIRCUMVENT PCV, helps prevent the spread of porcine circovirus type 2, which is responsible for post-weaning multi-systemic wasting syndrome (PMWS).The inactivated subunit vaccine reduces mortality in pig herds and weight loss associated with PCV2 infection during the fattening period. At the turn of the year, we launched our PORCILIS PCV vaccine against porcine circovirus type2 (PCV2) infection in Japan and also received registration in Europe.

Our respiratory vaccine range also includes the mycoplasmal pneumonia preventatives, PORCILIS M Hyo and M+Pac, as well as PORCILIS AR-T, an inactivated vaccine against atrophic rhinitis. In the autumn of 2008, we launched PORCILIS 6C, a swine vaccine against E. coli and Clostridium perfringens which play a role in specific enteric disease situations. To protect the swine population against influenza infections we provide inactivated vaccines for pigs combining two strains (H3N2 and H1N1).
