Nobilis® Duck Plague
Nobilis Duck Plague is a live vaccine against Duck Plague.
Active component per dose:
Live Duck Plague virus strain Utrecht: >= 4.0 log10
A freeze-dried pellet.
The vaccine is recommended for the active immunization of healthy ducks against Duck Plague. It may also be used for the emergency vaccination of healthy birds in flocks where the disease is present, as it can be useful in limiting the spread of the disease.
Low risk areas.
Initial vaccination at 4 weeks of age by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection is satisfactory when field challenge is mild or absent.
High risk areas.
Vaccination can be carried out from day-old onwards. Birds with maternal antibodies should be revaccinated as soon as maternal immunity has declined, e.g. at 4 weeks of age or later.
Should first be examined and all clinically affected birds culled. If all healthy birds are then vaccinated, spread of the disease through the rest of the flock can be limited.
One dose per bird.
Method of administration
The freeze dried vaccine should be reconstituted with the accompanying diluent (poultry freeze-dried) using 50 ml for 250 doses, 100 ml for 500 doses, or 200 ml per 1000 doses of vaccine. 0.20 ml of reconstituted vaccine should be given by subcutaneous or intramuscular injection. Once diluted, the vaccine should be used within six hours. Any unused vaccine should be discarded after this time.
Vials containing 500 or 1000 doses of freeze-dried vaccine.
Bottles containing 100 or 200 ml of sterile diluent (poultry freeze-dried).
