Nobilis® TRT

Description
Nobilis TRT is a live vaccine against Turkey Rhinotracheitis in turkeys.

Composition
Active components per dose:

Live TRT strain BUT 1 #8544: >= 2.5log¹⁰ TCID₅₀

Formulation
A freeze-dried pellet.

Indications
Immunization of healthy turkeys against turkey rhinotracheitis.

Vaccination
Meat turkeys:
Two vaccination with an interval of 5 to 6 weeks. The first vaccination can be carried out as early as 1 day old.

Turkey breeders:
A minimum of one vaccination with Nobilis TRT as a priming dose. Inactivated Nobilis TRT inac or Nobilis TRT + ND should be administered before the onset of lay at 28-30 weeks.

Dosage
One dose per bird.

Method of administration

Coarse spray method.
Dissolve the vaccine in cool, clean water of at least drinking water quality. Open the vials under water. The spray apparatus should be free of disinfectant (used for vaccination purposes only). The reconstituted vaccine should be sprayed evenly over the correct number of birds from a distance of 30-40 cm. The volume of water used for reconstitution depends on the spray apparatus used.

Oculo/Nasal (eyedrop) method.
Reconstitute the vaccine in an appropriate diluent, preferably Intervet’s diluent oculo nasal. Use about 40 ml per 1000 doses and administer by means of a dropper. One drop should be instilled into one of the nares or into one eye. The handler should ensure that the nasal drop is inhaled by the bird..

Drinking water application.
Dissolve the vaccine in cool, clean water of at least drinking water quality. Open the vials under water. The vaccine must be diluted in the volume of water which will be drunk by the poults within 2 hours (which depends on the age of the birds and the climatic conditions). The coarse spray and intraocular/ intranasal methods of vaccination are to be preferred.

Presentation
Boxes of vials each containing 1000 doses.

Storage
Store at a temperature of 2-8°C in the dark.

Contra-indications
When used according to instructions: None.

Further information
Dispose of empty or part-used vials in accordance with local regulations.

Precautions

• Wash and disinfect hands and equipment after vaccination.
• Vaccinate healthy birds only.
• Each vial should be used immediately after opening.
