Merck Animal Health Reaffirms its Commitment to the Poultry Industry and Future Poultry Talent at the International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE)

Rahway, NJ, January  24, 2024 – Merck Animal Health, known as MSD Animal Health outside of the United States and Canada, a division of Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, N.J., USA (NYSE:MRK), today announced it will showcase its portfolio of innovative solutions to advance the poultry industry as well as offer future talent development opportunities at the International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE) in Atlanta, GA from January 30 – February 1, 2024.

The company’s booth (#B7045) will feature live demonstrations of SenseHub™ Poultry, a wireless system that collects and analyzes real-time behavioral data that is fundamental to understanding bird health, welfare and performance. The data can be interpreted by specialist vets, nutritionists and other consultants, allowing farmers to make informed decisions on-farm. There will also be live demonstrations of INNOJECT® Pro, a chick vaccination system that combines eye and nasal drop administration with a dual subcutaneous injection to ensure that chicks are handled gently and safely, while increasing the accuracy of injection and greater stability during the vaccination process. Representatives from Merck Animal Health will be available to discuss the Company’s other innovations in poultry vaccines.

Immersive “Career Journey” Program Available for Future Talent

Merck Animal Health is committed to supporting emerging talent in the poultry industry. In line with this commitment, the Company will offer several opportunities for professional development:

  • Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) “Coffee & Chat with Leaders,” which will include a panel discussion with Maxim Nakhodko, head of global poultry, Merck Animal Health, Georgina Romero, director, Poultry, Merck Animal Health with Elizabeth Galbreath, senior specialist, future talent programs, Merck Animal Health as moderator, followed by a booth tour.   • Informal “Flash” Mentoring Sessions, which are quick and informal mentoring discussions focused on networking, answering questions about the industry and company, and resume editing (Tuesday, January 30, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Wednesday, January 31, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.)

Attendees can attend the live tapings with industry experts, who will discuss topics such as new trends in the hatchery, work-life balance, diversity, and insights on the future of respiratory challenges, including ILT and avian influenza.. Tapings take place on January 30 and 31.
