Focusing on Sustainability
We recognize there is an undeniable connection between animals, humans and our shared environment. At Merck Animal Health, we are investing in science-backed solutions that can make a real and meaningful impact in keeping the planet healthier.
We develop veterinary medicines, vaccines, health management solutions and services as well as an extensive suite of connected technology that includes identification, traceability and monitoring products that address existing and unmet animal health needs. Taking a One Health approach, we collaborate with others both within and outside of our industry as part of our commitment to sustainability.
We shape the future of animal health and well-being by pioneering science, technology, and insights-driven solutions for a world focused on the health and welfare of pets and a sustainable food supply.
We recognize that the health of animals, humans and our shared environment are inextricably linked.
We honor our commitment to improve the health of the world by using resources responsibly. Learn more about our One Health commitment.

Supporting a Sustainable Food Supply
The United Nations estimates that by 2050 there will be a food demand of 9 billion people in the world, with a growing middle class and changing global diet habits toward more protein consumption. To feed them, we will need to help animal producers become more efficient and more sustainable, which is why our company is committed to helping create a sustainable, affordable and safe food supply through the protection of animal health.
Commitments to Environmental Sustainability Through Philanthropy
We are proud to take our efforts further through partnership with WeForest: an international nonprofit devoted to large-scale sustainable reforestation and reduction in plastic pollution. To date, we have funded the planting of over 120,000 trees on three continents through our partnership with the nonprofit organization.
Our efforts are aligned with the Corporate Sustainability goals: For more information, see our most recent Impact Report.
